This is an original lithograph book illustration printed in the early 50's. Keith Shackleton known mainly for his naturalist paintings was also an accomplished yachtsman, printer and illustrator.

Only original copies of the published works are used. These prints are full page without marks. The print is fixed to conservation standard backing paper and mounted in a white core; acid free conservation standard mount board ready for framing. The mount boards have a generous margin to show the prints in the best possible way. Mount boards are prepared in our framing studio using latest computerised cutting techniques for accuracy and best finish. Condition: Very good clean and crisp condition with no text or distracting marks. The paper is good quality heavy paper. This is an original 1950s print so paper has slightly creamy/yellow appearance but this lends the overall image a nice vintage aspect. 


About Keith Shackleton (1923 -2015)

Keith Shackleton, who has died aged 92, was an artist, illustrator and naturalist best known for his vast canvases of wildlife subjects or landscapes, which sold well in the form of limited-edition prints; for a time he also presented Animal Magic with Johnny Morris.
