Buttercups in a meadow by Stanley Spencer
There is luxuriance of flower here. Spencer transfixes that peak moment of bloom – things will have changed by the following day. But nodding in verdant approval along the flanks of the meadow are hedges and trees, and a path leads you gently towards a barn, perhaps a house, perched idyllically, as it is, overlooking the sheer abundance in this buttercup meadow.
This artwork is a great favourite in my framing studio and is of superb quality both of paper and image reproduction. I originally purchased one for myself as I grew up near Cookham and recall walking on the Common and nearby Winter Hill. The print will be sent in a hard wearing tube, if you are interested in framing and mounting options or have any questions just let me know.
